One hundred and eight is a sacred number in many eastern philosophical and spiritual traditions. There are 108 beads on a Buddhist Mala necklace, 108 names for each of the Hindu Gods and Goddesses, and the numerological significance is 1 for oneness, 0 for nothingness, 8 for infinity. Since the land was comprised of 108 acres, we considered it a sacred site and hoped all residents would treat it with reverence.
