Residency 108 was co-founded in 2014 by artist Anne-Katrin Spiess and art historian Jamie Morra. The two have worked together for over a decade and share a deep connection to the natural environment and an abiding concern for the issues facing our planet. Together they have shaped the program to underscore the connections, both formally and conceptually, between art and nature. They welcome artists to find inspiration in both the cultivated and wild features of the landscape, and to create a dialogue with their fellow residents around the aesthetics of ecology. Above all, they provide time and space for artists to create.
